Students face doubling of fees and rise in loan costs

A review of higher education funding is being started today, with some vice-chancellors proposing that the fees are pushed up to £7000 from the standard £3,225 a year!

These higher tution fees would be introduced from Autumn 2012, and are likely to accelerate the dominance of a group of elite universities able to compete globally for students and research funding.
